Take It! was an 80’s fanzine that covered a variety of punk and hardcore. Created by Michael Koenig, with help from longtime music critic and independent music historian Byron Coley, *Take It!* covered the punk, hardcore, and newly emerging indy music scenes. Each issue included a flexi-disc with music from Dead Kennedys, Angry Samoans, The Trademarks, The Creamers, Yello, Renaldo and The Loaf, The Mutants, 1/2 Japanese, and Flipper. The issues included articles, interviews, essays, and reviews. Notable and regular contributors were Richard Meltzer, one of the foremost rock critics in modern history, John Holmstrom of Punk Magazine and High Times, photos by Phil N Flash, plus work from Jonathan Borofsky. The magazine included music coverage of Gang of Four, Mission of Burma, Black Flag, Flesh Eaters, The Slits, The Psychedelic Furs, and many others.
